Celebrating 25 Years of Hungry Caterpillar Day Nurseries: A Day to Remember!
What an incredible milestone! Hungry Caterpillar Day Nurseries recently celebrated its 25th birthday, and we couldn’t be prouder of how far we’ve come. To mark this special occasion, owners Olivia and Tim threw the ultimate party at our very own Glaston-Pillar Festival—a day dedicated to thanking our incredible staff, partners, and supporters who have made our journey so extraordinary.
A Festival to Remember
The Glaston-Pillar Festival was packed with excitement, laughter, and joy. Held on a beautiful July day, it provided the perfect setting for everyone to come together, let their hair down, and enjoy a day full of fun. We wanted this celebration to reflect our appreciation for the dedication and hard work that goes into making Hungry Caterpillar such a special place.
Activities for All
No festival is complete without activities, and we made sure there was something for everyone! From fun inflatables to interactive games, our festival grounds were buzzing with energy. Staff members enjoyed participating in team games that brought out some healthy competition, and it was heartwarming to see everyone engaging and relishing these moments together. A particular favourite was the face painting and retro VW photo booth van, which were big hits with everyone!
Delicious BBQ & Festive Feasts
Nothing brings people together quite like good food, and our BBQ was a highlight of the day! Planned and prepared by our fabulous Hungry Caterpillar Chef’s Patrycja, Angilla, Kim and Shobna. It featured a mouthwatering selection of burgers (both meat and veggie), alongside an array of fresh salads, rice, and pasta to ensure there was something for every taste. It was more than just a meal; it was a chance to sit down, relax, and connect with colleagues and partners who’ve supported us over the years.
Adding to the fun was a delightful ice cream van, serving a variety of sweet treats that brought smiles to faces young and old. The ice cream was the perfect way to cool down on a warm day and added a nostalgic touch to our festival atmosphere.
Live Music & Festival Camps
Adding to the festival atmosphere was live music from 2Tone, who had everyone tapping their feet and dancing away. Local bands and talented performers graced the stage, bringing an extra layer of joy to the day. Some of our own talented team members even surprised us with their musical and dancing abilities! A huge thank you to 2Tone for helping make this day so memorable.
To make the event even more unique, each nursery set up its very own festival camp. Complete with cozy seating areas and vibrant decorations, these camps became the perfect chill-out spots for everyone to unwind, get to know their colleagues, and soak in the festival atmosphere. Congratulations to Camp Chalfont for winning Best Dressed Camp! The judges loved your cowgirl and cowboy theme, complete with all the amazing details that made your camp stand out!
A Special Thanks to Olivia and Tim
Behind every great nursery is a great leadership team, and at Hungry Caterpillar Day Nurseries, we are fortunate to be led by the wonderful husband-and-wife duo, Olivia and Tim. Their passion, vision, and unwavering commitment to the staff and families have been the foundation of our success. This celebration was also a moment to recognize the care and dedication they’ve shown over the past 25 years. Olivia and Tim, thank you for creating a place where staff can grow and feel supported.
A Heartfelt Thank You
This event was more than just a celebration of 25 years—it was our way of saying a massive thank you to everyone who has played a part in our journey. To our amazing staff, you are the heart and soul of Hungry Caterpillar. With a total of almost 550 years of service, your dedication, passion, and love for what you do are the reasons we’ve thrived for 25 years. To our partners, thank you for your unwavering support in helping us grow and continue providing the best care and education.

The Glaston-Pillar Festival was a beautiful reminder of the community we’ve built together and the wonderful memories we are all part of. We look forward to many more years of growth, fun, and making a positive impact.
