Hi, my name is Laura and I am the acting manager of Chalfont St. Peter. I have worked in the Early Years sector both in England and the United States for over 35 years. I am passionate about delivering quality child care and helping each child reach their highest potential. My most favourite part of working in this profession is children's literature and the interactions one has while reading a beautiful story with our youngest members of society. I wrote a book for my own children, which was published in 2010 and I aspire to write more stories in the future. I adore nursery life and would be so happy to show new parents around our lovely nursery.
The new nursery is housed in a lovely character building set in the heart of the village. Previously a public house, The Chalfont Phoenix, has been completely renovated from inside to outside and transformed it into a fantastic nursery for local families. The nursery caters for around 65 children from babies through to school age and also offers a range of parenting classes for families attending and the wider community.
Hungry Caterpillar’s Chalfont’s onsite chef, freshly prepares and cooks nutritious meals for the children using locally sourced produce. Chalfont will also see the launch of ‘Caterpillar Parent Services’ which will enable busy working parents to use the nursery as a one stop shop for emergency supplies, dry cleaning and local errands. More will be revealed but essentially the aim is to ensure local business’s benefit from the nursery and parent’s lives are made easier.
A learning rich enviorment
The nursery runs weekly Forest School sessions for the children taking full advantage of their wonderful garden area and local green belt. Children will also have the opportunity to access weekly Yoga sessions, French classes and music sessions.
Oliva Foley, founder & Director of Hungry Caterpillars said:
“We are so excited about our new nursery in Chalfont St Peter, the Phoenix has been empty for nearly four years so it will be great to see it brought back to life again. This nursery is particularly close to my heart as Chalfont is also my home and where children have grown up and gone to school. We intend to make Chalfont our flagship nursery and create a real home from home environment for the children. We are working with a fantastic architect whose ideas are going to transform the building. I’m delighted to be able to finally be able to offer our services to the families of Chalfont.”
